Mini Sewing Machines
Mini sewing machines can be a great addition to your
repertoire. While we all love our full-sized sewing machines,
sometimes it is not always practical to take them with us, or
sometimes we just don’t have enough room in our small
apartments or condos for a full-size sewing machine.
While many sewing machines have advanced greatly
in technology over the years, you must realize that they
are not capable of handling full sized projects. These
are best for mending thin fabrics, and usually cannot
handle thicker heavier fabrics or denim.
When going about buying mini sewing machines one
important thing to look for is the power source. Many of
the smaller sewing machines are powered by batteries.
Batteries provide a practical and portable powers source,
but they often lack the power that a plug in machine
has.
So if you know that you’re always going to use
your small sewing machine if at all possible by one that
plugs in.
Other than that, you should look for the same
qualities you would in a normal machine as well.
Obviously the more features machine has the more
expensive it is. Also these
mini sewing machines often only do a simple stitches, and
not zigzagged or other fancy stitches.
